Kenney Signs with Secret Lures
“I’m looking forward to working with a group of people who pay attention to the subtle details in a bait,” Kenney said. Secret Lures is an innovative new tackle company and they plan to leverage Kenney’s years of experience on a variety of different fisheries to continue to produce leading-edge products. “We are thankful JT chose to represent our products at the tour level and look forward to working with such a great fisherman," said Nathan Gray of Secret Lures. "Our lures are designed, through careful attention to detail, to increase the fishermen’s hookup and landing percentages. We want our customers to have the competitive advantage to win and cash more checks in their tournaments.” Article from: Wired2Fish
Secret Lures Signs FLW Pros Voyles and Romans Two up and coming FLW Pros, John Voyles and Christian Romans inked deals with Secret Lures. Voyles is a second-year pro on the FLW Tour having made his mark on the FLW American Fishing Series in 2008 finishing 4th in the Northern Division points. Romans is also a second-year pro on the FLW Tour and finished 10th in the points in FLW American Fishing Series in 2008. “I am very excited to be working with Secret Lures,” Voyles said. “I used the Secret Lures Chubby frog to locate the fish in practice when I finished 3rd in the American Fishing Series on Lake Champlain in 2008. The clear legs really increased my hook up ratio. “My No. 1 confidence bait is no doubt the MVP Football Jig. I have one tied up everywhere I go, no matter the season. During the FLW tour event at Kentucky Lake last year, I never lost a fish in practice or the tournament on the MVP Football.” “We are proud to continue expanding our presence on the FLW Tour,” said Nathan Gray of Secret Lures. “These guys are accomplished anglers, and we are excited about the opportunities for them to expose our products to their fans and co-anglers alike. I love the positive feedback from John and Christian. The number of pros who rely on and have the utmost of confidence in our products is encouraging.” “Fishing with Secret lures products has been an awesome experience,” Romans said. “The MVP football jig has become a main stay in my fishing arsenal, helping me catch quality fish on the Tour. When the bite gets tough I can rely on the Tail shaker to keep me in the game. Both have special shaped super sharp hooks and a unique divot head that stands apart from anything else I have ever fished with. They pay attention to the details and that gives me the edge.” Article from: Wired2Fish

The MVP Series of jigs consists of two different models, a Football and a Flippin' design, both offered in 9 colors, and a variety of weights. All MVP jigs feature premium three tone silicone skirts, high strand counts, rattle band collars, and the unique "hole in one" skirt design. This premium skirt system provides for distict colors, secure attachment, and great flared action. For deep or open water, Secret Lures offers the MVP Football jigs. These feature a premium Mustad EWG hook, cross-eyed design, and proven football head shape. Couple these features with the Secret Lures Pivot Divot, and you have a deadly combination. The Pivot Divot allows you to rock the jig in place, with an enticing action that others can't match. The football jig also comes in two color coordinated heads, black/gold hybrid and camo/pepper, depending on which skirt color is selected. For shallower water and heavy cover, Secret Lures offers the MVP Flippin' jigs. They are designed to come through the thickest of cover without snagging. The Flippin' head features a sleek profile, cross-eyed line tie, and molded trailer keeper. This combination allows the jig to be flipped and skipped into the tightest of places with ease, while keeping the hook upright and ready. The premium 4/0 Mustad EWG hook assures you'll have what it takes to pull the big one out of hiding. King Proves New Secret Lures Tail Shaker is a Winner. Secret Lures is excited to announce its newest introduction, the "Tail Shaker". The Tail Shaker is the ultimate shaky head for soft-plastics. It is designed around a premium 4/0 Mustad EWG hook and features a molded screw-lock for attachement. This design allows a variety of soft plastics to be rigged straight and natural while providing more hook "bite". The Tail Shaker is built around the proven football head; and we've incorporated the Secret Lures "Pivot Divot". This unique concave design allows the bait to rock between TWO balance points. The head rests level, with the hook tilted forward or backwards, but always up. This allows the angler to impart a true "shaking" action, while keeping the line safely off the bottom. The Tail Shaker made its tournament debut June 4-6th at the TBF Central Divisional on Lake Francis Case in South Dakota. Secret Lures pro-staff member Zach King bagged 13 smallmouth over three days for a total of 20 lbs. 1 oz. In a tough event, Zach was able to use the Tail Shaker for every fish he brought to the scales. His catch eared a Second place overall finish, and more importantly, an Arkansas State Champion title. This win guarantees Zach a spot in the 2009 TBF National Championship, representing the state of Arkansas. Congratulations Zach, and thanks for proving the Tail Shaker is a winner! Secret Lures Announces the Meat Hook HD for Swimbaits. The Meat Hook HD was developed to meet the needs of today's swimbait fishermen. The HD hood is thicker, longer, and stronger than any other swimbait hook available. It combines a heavy duty screw-lock with a premium 7/0 or 8/0 Mustad Hook. The screw-lock makes rigging the bait a snap, and the tapered weight is molded for optimum balance. The straight hook shank and weight also lay closer to the belly of today's soft plastic swimbaits, making them perfect for heavy cover or vegitation. The 7/0 Meat Hook HD is 2.5" in length with a 1" hook gap, making it ideal for 5-6" swimbaits. For swimbaits 6" and larger, the 8/0 Meat Hook HD is perfect. It measures 3" in length and has a hook gap over 1" wide. We offer both hook sizes in four varieties: unweighted, 1/8 oz., 3/16 oz., and 1/4 oz. The Meat Hook HD will be available for $5.49 per package through our retail network, in quantities of 3 weighted or 4 unweighted, hooks per package. Visit our products section for more information. Click here for official press release (pdf, 112k).

Secret Lures signs Arkansas Pro Zach King. Zach King, a talented angler out of Clarksville, AR, is the newest member of the Secret Lures Pro-staff. Zach has an impressive list of accomplishments including: six consecutive appearances on the Arkansas BASS Federation State Team, a trip to the Federation National Championship in '06, winner of the Beaver Lake Central Pro-Am in '07, and countless regional wins throughout Arkansas. A frog has always been a "Secret" lure of Zach's, and it helped him bag back to back limits in the recent BASS Open on the Red River. According to Zach, the action and sound of the Chubby is like no other frog he's fished. Here is a peek at what we can expect this summer, as he keeps winning with Secret Lures. We'd like to wish Zach good luck as he prepares for the next Central BASS open on Kentucky Lake this fall. He'll be armed with the newest Secret Lures to hit the market; including the Tail Shaker shaky football heads, and MVP football jigs, which should all come in handy. For more information on Zach and his accomplishments, please visit http://www.zachking.net.

If you make the cut, the next photos and stories we release could be yours!
Our first photos of 2008 come from Jacob Wheeler, a talented young angler, and newest member of the Secret Lures Junior Pro Staff. His impressive list of accomplishments includes Indiana Junior State Championships in 2006 and 2007, along with several top finishes along the way. We wish him good luck as he competes in the 2007 Junior World Championship in South Carolina. Jacob was able to get us some of 2008's first great frog photos on a recent trip to Texas. He was able to out fish his boater nearly two to one from the back of the boat, using a black neon Chubby with clear legs! As you can see in the photos, the bass were inhaling the Chubby. You have to look close to even see the bait down in those bucket mouths! |
