Zach King wins Big Bass honors at Stren Series Event on Kentucky Lake

Secret Lures "MVP" Line of Jigs Debuting at 2008 ICAST Show Secret Lures will be rolling out their newest products July 16-18, at the 2008 ICAST trade show. The MVP Series of jigs consists of two different models, a Football and a Flippin' design, both offered in 9 colors, and a variety of weights. All MVP jigs feature premium three tone silicone skirts, high strand counts, rattle band collars, and the unique "hole in one" skirt design. This premium skirt system provides for distict colors, secure attachment, and great flared action. For deep or open water, Secret Lures offers the MVP Football jigs. These feature a premium Mustad EWG hook, cross-eyed design, and proven football head shape. Couple these features with the Secret Lures Pivot Divot, and you have a deadly combination. The Pivot Divot allows you to rock the jig in place, with an enticing action that others can't match. The football jig also comes in two color coordinated heads, black/gold hybrid and camo/pepper, depending on which skirt color is selected. King Proves New Secret Lures Tail Shaker is a Winner. Secret Lures is excited to announce its newest introduction, the "Tail Shaker". The Tail Shaker is the ultimate shaky head for soft-plastics. It is designed around a premium 4/0 Mustad EWG hook and features a molded screw-lock for attachement. This design allows a variety of soft plastics to be rigged straight and natural while providing more hook "bite".
The Tail Shaker is built around the proven football head; and we've incorporated the Secret Lures "Pivot Divot". This unique concave design allows the bait to rock between TWO balance points. The head rests level, with the hook tilted forward or backwards, but always up. This allows the angler to impart a true "shaking" action, while keeping the line safely off the bottom. 
The Tail Shaker made its tournament debut June 4-6th at the TBF Central Divisional on Lake Francis Case in South Dakota. Secret Lures pro-staff member Zach King bagged 13 smallmouth over three days for a total of 20 lbs. 1 oz. In a tough event, Zach was able to use the Tail Shaker for every fish he brought to the scales. His catch eared a Second place overall finish, and more importantly, an Arkansas State Champion title. Secret Lures Announces the Meat Hook HD for Swimbaits. The Meat Hook HD was developed to meet the needs of today's swimbait fishermen. The HD hood is thicker, longer, and stronger than any other swimbait hook available. It combines a heavy duty screw-lock with a premium 7/0 or 8/0 Mustad Hook. The screw-lock makes rigging the bait a snap, and the tapered weight is molded for optimum balance. The straight hook shank and weight also lay closer to the belly of today's soft plastic swimbaits, making them perfect for heavy cover or vegitation.
The 7/0 Meat Hook HD is 2.5" in length with a 1" hook gap, making it ideal for 5-6" swimbaits. For swimbaits 6" and larger, the 8/0 Meat Hook HD is perfect. Secret Lures signs Arkansas Pro Zach King. Zach King, a talented angler out of Clarksville, AR, is the newest member of the Secret Lures Pro-staff. Zach has an impressive list of accomplishments including: six consecutive appearances on the Arkansas BASS Federation State Team, a trip to the Federation National Championship in '06, winner of the Beaver Lake Central Pro-Am in '07, and countless regional wins throughout Arkansas. A frog has always been a "Secret" lure of Zach's, and it helped him bag back to back limits in the recent BASS Open on the Red River. According to Zach, the action and sound of the Chubby is like no other frog he's fished. Here is a peek at what we can expect this summer, as he keeps winning with Secret Lures.
We'd like to wish Zach good luck as he prepares for the next Central BASS open on Kentucky Lake this fall. Our first photos of 2008 come from Jacob Wheeler, a talented young angler, and newest member of the Secret Lures Junior Pro Staff. His impressive list of accomplishments includes Indiana Junior State Championships in 2006 and 2007, along with several top finishes along the way. We wish him good luck as he competes in the 2007 Junior World Championship in South Carolina. Jacob was able to get us some of 2008's first great frog photos on a recent trip to Texas. He was able to out fish his boater nearly two to one from the back of the boat, using a black neon Chubby with clear legs! As you can see in the photos, the bass were inhaling the Chubby. You have to look close to even see the bait down in those bucket mouths! |
